Dealing with Dengue

Dengue fever causes around 22,000 deaths worldwide each year, most of them in children*.Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection causing severe flu-like illness and, sometimes causing a potentially severe illness called severe dengue. It is caused by four different viruses and spread by a day-biting mosquito called Aedes aegypti. A cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops beating unexpectedly due to a problem with the electrical signals. The heart stops sending blood to the body and brain and oxygen-starved brain cells start to die.
